The Elephant Staghorn Fern is a striking, sculptural houseplant known for its broad, shield-like fronds and unique growth habit. It thrives in bright, indirect light and prefers to dry slightly between waterings—soak the root ball or moss mount thoroughly, then allow it to dry before watering again. This fern loves high humidity, making bathrooms, kitchens, or rooms with a humidifier ideal. Since it is an epiphytic plant, it grows best mounted on wood or in a hanging basket with sphagnum moss rather than traditional soil. Keep temperatures warm (60–80°F) and never remove the brown basal fronds, as they protect and feed the plant.
