Curio rowleyanus (formerly Senecio rowleyanus)
Delicate yet dramatic, String of Pearls is a show-stopping succulent known for its cascading vines of perfectly round, pea-like leaves. Native to arid regions of Southwest Africa, this plant is both easygoing and striking—perfect for hanging baskets, shelves, or plant walls that need a touch of whimsy.
Light & Location:
• Thrives in bright, indirect light—a sunny windowsill with filtered light is ideal.
• Tolerates some direct morning sun, but too much can scorch the leaves.
Water & Care:
• Water Sparingly: Water only when the soil is completely dry. In summer, aim for lightly moist. In winter, let it go almost completely dry.
• When in doubt, wait it out. This plant prefers neglect over overwatering.
• Use a well-draining succulent or cactus mix and a pot with drainage holes.
Temperature & Humidity:
• Prefers temperatures between 70–80°F (21–27°C) during active growth.
• Protect from frost—keep above 50°F (10°C).
• Low humidity is fine; this succulent doesn’t need misting.
