Description:
‘White Cloud’ is a striking cultivar of native pink muhly grass, known for its billowing ivory seed heads that resemble mist on a cool autumn morning. Blooming slightly later than Pink Muhly Grass, ‘White Cloud’ adds a dramatic, ethereal quality to the landscape with its upright, arching shape and soft blue-green foliage. It thrives in full sun and poor soils, requiring very little input once established. As a native ornamental grass, it's a low-maintenance solution for erosion control, highway beautification, or white-themed gardens.
Care Tips:
Plant in full sun with well-drained soil. Water to establish, then reduce frequency; drought tolerant once mature. Trim back in late winter to early spring before new growth appears. For container production, grow in 1–3 gallon pots with slow-release fertilizer and cold frame protection if overwintering. Avoid overwatering.
Landscape Uses:
Mass plantings, white gardens, perennial borders, naturalized meadows, erosion control, large containers, roadside and commercial landscapes, golf courses
