Common Name: Pugster® Amethyst Butterfly Bush
Latin Name: Buddleia x 'SMNBDL' PP30,236
Brand: Proven Winners® ColorChoice®
Description:
Pugster® Amethyst offers full-sized, amethyst-purple blooms on an ultra-compact dwarf plant. Each flower is fragrant, long-lasting, and highlighted by a tiny yellow-orange eye. Unlike traditional butterfly bushes, this cultivar blooms continuously from early summer through fall, with improved hardiness in colder climates thanks to its thick stems. Its petite size makes it ideal for containers or small spaces, while still attracting pollinators like a full-sized variety.
Care Tips:
Plant in full sun with well-drained soil. Avoid fall planting in Zones 5–6. Prune only in early spring once new growth appears. Deadheading is not necessary, but you may tidy up for appearance. Water regularly during establishment; afterward, it's drought tolerant.
